While reading a recent article in Reader's Digest on signs of true happiness, it occurred to me that the traits they mentioned are all very prevalent in geocachers. In fact, geocachers seem to exemplify in many ways what true balance and happiness is derived from... time spent in good company, doing good things and nurturing their souls in the great outdoors. While researching numerous articles online for signs of happiness it appears they are pretty universal. These signs of happiness are all part of finding a perfect harmony in oneself and aligning it with the universe. This idea is often referred to by various cultures around the world, but the term that caught my attention is from the Native American tribes of Iroquois called Orenda. Orenda is a mystical force present in all people (actually in all things very much like the idea of the Force in the popular Star Wars movies) that empowers them to affect to the world or to effect changes in their own lives. I love the idea that by nurturing the ten focal points found in truly happy people that your very presence can literally change the world around you. Whether out caching, at an event, practicing CITO, educating or sharing these traits can create a ripple pattern bigger than any one person and change our small part of the universe. This coin celebrates those 10 common core values of truly happy people who cache or share caching in their own way. Focus your joy, spread your good will and embrace the power of Orenda through inner peace and happiness throughout all the cycles of your life!
